Melissa Lohman-Wild loves to make stuff in the company of others. Her vocation is film-making, which she taught to New York City public high school students for seven years through DCTV and Satellite Academy/Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. But she is happiest when cutting up pieces of paper and glueing them together. Her artsy/crafty interests include collage, screen printed cards, and mailable art. Melissa sends out handmade mail regularly, hosts MAKE MAIL workshops for children and adults, and posts weekly on her blog, www.vivasnailmail.com. Melissa holds an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School, a B.A. from Hampshire College, and has taught art for children at Hootenanny Art House, Beam Center’s Inventgenuity Workshops, The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace, and Children’s Aid Society. She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two mail indoctrinated kids.
