tiny post offices postcards

I love these postcards from Kyle Durrie of Power and Light Press. You can see the rest of the illustrations in the pack on her tiny post offices tumblr.

Kyle gets to see tiny post offices up close as she tours the country in her Moveable Type truck, a 1982 Chevy step van, retrofitted as a letterpress printing shop. Maybe she will be driving through your town this year, or you can propose that she schedules a visit/workshop in your neck of the woods.

Um, I think I am in love with Kyle Durrie.

  1. Love this!! Her illustrations remind me of the small post office in the town I lived in when I was little. I was bummed when I went back and it had been turned into a restaurant. Have to say her illustrations made me realize that the post office branch near me now is pretty little and nifty too – though sadly with the attack on the USPS it’s probably not long for this world.

    • a restaurant in an old post office sounds like fun! if i was the chef i’d give a nod to the former tenants by serving food envelopes- pita sandwiches, dumplings, edamame…
