It doesn’t bother me. I can’t think of the last time I sent a letter that absolutely had to get somewhere on time. I’d have been irked if they stopped Saturday deliveries for packages, though.
The USPS can’t decide this unilaterally. By law, this is up to Congress and, in the past, they have resisted eliminating Saturday delivery.

yes, and all the things people buy online. usps needs to get more competitive with fedex and ups in this area.
